The wait is over, the NFL season is finally here!

The NFL regular season finally starts this week after the snore fest that is the preseason is now over. The NFL rosters have been trimmed down and teams are ready to roll.
There will be a few interesting things coming into the first week of the season, starting off with something off the field that could affect teams down the stretch… Hurricane Irma.
Hurricane Irma could affect the Buccaneers vs. Dolphins game on Sunday. The game could be scheduled for either Thursday or Friday of this week, played at a different location, or it could be scheduled during the teams off week which would leave both teams with no bye week. Players have already stated that they would rather play earlier in the week than to have the game postponed to where they would have to play 16 straight games.
A potential AFC championship game preview between the New England Patriots and Kansas City, Chiefs kicks the season off this Thursday. The Patriots will be without star receiver Julian Edelman for the year with a torn ACL, but with Tom Brady still being at quarterback, the Patriots won’t skip a beat.
The rivalry between the Giants and Cowboys is also this week, The Cowboys will be looking for revenge week 1 against the Giants from being swept by them last year.
Injured quarterbacks Marcus Mariota and Derek Carr are healthy this year and are expected to lead their teams to big things this year. When Carr was healthy, the Raiders looked like one of the most dominant teams in the league last year. But once he went down with a season ending injury then the Raiders seemed like they couldn’t gain their confidence back and the season went downhill.
Heading into week 1 it seems that high round picks Mitch Trubisky and Deshaun Watson will start the season out on the bench. The only rookie quarterback that will be starting this week will be Deshone Kizer. Kizer had an impressive preseason which lead to the Browns releasing Brock Osweiler.
It is that time again and many of us are pretty excited that the wait is finally over.
