The Destiny 2 Beta has been floating around with some mixed reactions, but today I’m going to bring you great insight as to what you can expect coming from the beta and the sequel.
Destiny 2 is the next instalment on the Destiny by Bungie. It takes place in a scifi setting where players take on the role of a Guardian, protectors of earth’s last city.
How Does It Play?
Destiny 2 remains true to the first person combat that was introduced in the first one, its very free flowing and easy to fight your enemies.
While playing I got some really strong vibes of how Halo use to feel while playing, It gave me the feeling of an overwhelming amount enemies being everywhere but mostly they just tickle you while you bash there face in. While it was very enjoyable, there really wasn’t any noticeable change, and it didn’t give me the sense of accomplishment like I expected it to.
The quest system from what I got to see was easy to use, but it felt more driven by the story rather than how the player interacts within that story.
The inventory system is straight up and easy to understand, however it’s a little clunky in the way it makes you use the analog sticks as a mouse to select options. Overall there wasn’t much change to the inventory system and it remained identical to the first game.
Sadly, my greatest grievance was the objective marker, it didn’t give much direction as to where I was suppose to go besides pointing in the general direction which wasn’t very helpful.
Wrapping It Up
Overall, the Beta has been really disappointing with little to no different feelings from the first one. The combat does feel amazing even with the little changes, and you feel like a total bad ass, despite not feeling like you have accomplished much.
