Welcome ladies and gentleman to this weeks RAW recap coming to us live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, CA. Already announced for tonight’s show is Braun Strowman taking on Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing Match for our main event and a new RAW Women’s Championship number one contender to be determined tonight as well due to Bayley suffering an injury last week in her match against Nia Jax. All that and more as the road to SummerSlam continues. Let’s get right to it folks!
Kicking off the show is Intercontinental Champion The Miz,his wife Maryse, and The Miztourage in the ring for MizTV.
The Miz hops on the mic quickly saying he’s not in the mood for the crowd’s antics and demands Jason Jordan come out so that he can finish what he started last week. Instead, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle comes out and informs Miz that his “son” will not be a guest on his show tonight but will face Curtis Axel later on. Kurt then tells Miz that he booked a guest that’ll exceed MizTV expectations. That guest turns out to be Universal Champion Brock Lesnar along side Paul Heyman. Lesnar and Heyman make their way down to the ring as Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel stare them down. Miz gets back on the mic and mocks the way Heyman starts his usual intro for Brock. He says he’s rooting for anyone other than Lesnar at Summerslam and asks Heyman if there’s anything that he would like to add? Paul asks if Miz and Maryse like to role play? He starts comparing Miz,Dallas, and Axel to Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe and informs us that Brock will now give a preivew of what’s going to happened at SummerSlam. Brock wastes no time and takes out Dallas and Axel before going after Miz with a German Suplex. Bo and Curtis try to attack Brock but he fights them off real quick. He then nails them both with German Suplexes and F-5’s before giving Miz an F-5 of his own. Brock stands tall as he leaves the ring while Miz and his Miztourage lay in pain.
Afterwards, we see Seth Rollins backstage getting ready for his match next as we go to our first commercial break of the night.
Back with Seth Rollins making his way out to the ring followed by his opponent and one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions, Sheamus.
Seth Rollins vs Sheamus

After the match Rollins lands a Suicide Dive on Cesaro while he was celebrating with Sheamus. Sheamus and Seth brawl for a bit till Cesaro joins in to help out. The tag champs gain the advantage now as the crowd chants for Dean Ambrose. The champs check up the entrance ramp to see if Dean’s going to run out but he doesn’t. They toss Rollins back into the ring and continue the attack before leaving him laying. They celebrate as commentary hype up tonight’s show.
Back with Seth Rollins walking backstage still in pain till he spots Dean Ambrose and walks up to him. Dean tells Seth that he told him not to do that again(get attack by Sheamus and Cesaro) cause now he looks like a jerk. Rollins snaps and tells Dean that he is since he can’t let what happened three years ago be pass them. Seth asks Dean what does he have to do to prove that he’s not the same guy he was back then? Dean says he isn’t going to stick around to find out and informs Seth that he has a match against Cesaro later and he’s going to do it alone.
Back out to the ring now with our next match-up as Jason Jordan makes his way out. While he’s waiting for his opponent Curtis Axel, the camera cuts backstage to a trainer,Axel and Kurt Angle. Kurt wants to know if Axel can still fight tonight but the trainer informs Kurt that he can’t due to the attack from Brock Lesnar earlier. Kurt walks off but finds a wrestler backstage and asks him what his name is? Kurt then tells the guy that tonight is his big shot before he heads out to the ring.
Jason Jordan vs. Jean-Pierre Goulet
Winner: Jason Jordan via Belly to back Suplex/Neckbreaker. Match grade: C
After match, Jason celebrates as we join Michael Cole up at the commentary table. Michael informs us about Bayley injury last week and says she will address her thoughts next. We see Bayley walking backstage with her shoulder in a sling as she gets ready to head out to the ring.
Back with Bayley in the ring joined by the lovely Charly Caruso.
After we get a look at Bayley’s match land her injury last week,Charly notes that Bayley didn’t even look at the replay and brings up her being pulled from her title match against Alexa Bliss at Summerslam. Bayley says she didn’t look at the replay cause it’ll just make her angry. She talks about when she knew something was wrong in the match but was determined to finish the match and was looking forward to prove Alexa wrong. She says she was at home all week with a wave of emotions but the support from the fans via Twitter cheered her up. Some fans boo her (ouch) and she acknowledges them but thanks the fans that supported her and vows to be back on top for them. More and somewhat louder boos now as Charly informs us that there will be two Triple Threat Matches to see who faces Alexa at Summerslam. He tells Bray to not miss next time he comes at him whether it’s a Summerslam or tonight,he’ll finish what Wyatt wants to start. Bray’s graphic flash across the screen and the lights go out. When they come back on, Bray is standing in the ring while Finn is sitting on top of the turnbuckle. Bray laughs at him and charges at him but Finn jumps over him. Somewhat decent RAW tonight. Personal show rating: C+
Main event and Ambrose/Cesaro saved the show for me but maaaan that first women’s Triple Threat Match was sloppy. Didn’t have a problem with Sasha winning but the match was nasty. Won’t give too much of the match away but Alicia messing up pin attempts was hard to watch. Don’t know what was going on but to me, Sasha and Emma carried the match and tried to make it work. Another thing is Bayley’s promo. Don’t know what happened to the Bayley from her NXT days to somewhat early RAW debut but something went wrong with her gimmick. Not really the type to say so and so should turn heel but maybe Bayley should. Either that or something to get her connection back at 100 with the fans. Hopefully a change happens while she’s away. Other than those two things, I’m still on board with what the RAW side as well as the Smackdown side does as the road towards Summerslam continues. Be sure to catch Smackdown and 205 Live tomorrow peeps. Till next time
