Welcome to this week’s RAW recap ladies and gentleman. First off happy late Father’s Day to all the great dads out there.
Tonight’s RAW comes to us live from Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana as the RAW roster continues their road to Great Balls of Fire. Kicking off the show to announce his plans for Summerslam is the “Big Dog” himself Roman Reigns.
Roman in the ring now greeted with mixed reactions as he takes the mic. He tells the crowd that they might not like it but he can’t be beaten one on one. He names a few guys that he’s defeated like Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins,Finn Balor and The Undertaker which brings on boos and an Undertaker chant. Roman brags a bit on “retiring” Taker before making it clear that he wants whomever is Universal Champion after Great Balls of Fire. He doesn’t care if it’s Brock Lesnar or “the guy they call Joe” cause it’s his yard now and he makes the rules. Samoa Joe’s theme interrupts Roman before he can proceed and out comes Joe. Samoa Joe quickly makes it known to Roman that he has never beat him. He then reminds Roman on who he is and says he’s the true number one contender. Roman says that he never thought he’ll agree with Paul Heyman and tells Samoa Joe that he won’t ever be Samoa Joe to him, he’ll just be “Joe. They face off for a second till Samoa Joe headbutts him which causes Roman to roll out the ring. Joe continues the attack on Roman outside the ring for a bit before taking him back in the ring looking to put Roman in the Coquina Clutch. He goes for the hold but Roman counters it with a Superman Punch to follow. Joe rolls out the ring as Roman theme plays while staring him down. Commentary plugs tonight’s show as we cut backstage to The Hardys getting ready for their match next against Gallows & Anderson before we cut to our first commercial break of the night.
Announced for tonight’s main event is Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns.
The Hardys vs Gallows & Anderson

We go to replays as The Hardys celebrate their win.

Camera cuts back out to the ring with JoJo introducing Elias Samson.
He roasts the crowd and gets ready to sing another song but stops to tune his guitar and asks the crowd to be quiet while he does so. Crows boos him till Finn Balor’s theme hits and out he comes making his way down to the ring with a great reaction. Both men in the ring now staring each other down till Elias leaves the ring while Finn stands tall as he gets ready for his match next.
Back with Balor’s opponent, Bo Dallas in the ring finishing his entrance as Finn looks on but is attacked out of nowhere by Bo till the ref finally gains control of him and checks on Balor before ringing the bell.
Winner: Finn Balor via Coup de Grace. Match grade: C
Finn celebrates after replays air as the camera cuts to the commentary table. Corey Graves receives another message while Michael Cole is in the middle of promoting Seth Rollins and WWE 2K18. Corey leaves the table as Cole presents us a look at the 2K18 trailer.
Seth will be out next to talk about the game and more.
Backstage in RAW general manager’s Kurt Angle’s office with Kurt and Corey talking about the new set of mystery messages. Enzo Amore and Big Cass walk up and Enzo asks Kurt how he’s doing? Kurt wants to know what was up with Enzo’s tweet to UFC’s own Conor McGregor. Both Cass and Enzo don’t wanna discuss the tweet, instead they wanna talk about the attacks on them and want actions to be made about them. Cass blames Big Show but Kurt tells them that he’ll handle the situation tonight.
Camera cuts back to the ring as Seth Rollins makes his way down to the ring. Seth talks about how great it feels to be on the cover of 2K18 since he’s a gamer. He says that him being on the cover is for the fans and they cheer till Bray Wyatt’s graphic flashes across the screen and Wyatt appears on the big screen. Bray trash talks Seth but Seth fires back saying that he’s been around some egotistical people in the biz but Bray is the worst. Seth says God exists in our minds and that Bray maybe a God in his world, but he’s nothing in Seth’s world. Bray tells Seth that he warned him and now it’s time to make a sacrifice cause he’s here. He blows out his lantern and makes his way out to the ring. He makes it down to ring side and as the lights come back on, Seth dives from the top Turnbuckle onto Bray and poses afterwards. Seth’s makes his way up the ramp we get a look at replays while Bray laughs. Still set for tonight, Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns and RAW general manager Kurt Angle gets to the bottom of the attacks on Enzo Amore and Big Cass.

After the match, Titus O’Neil praises Tozawa and promotes his “Titus Brand” He notes that him and Apollo Crews are facing Sheamus and Cesaro later. He says Tozawa is close to signing with the “Titus Brand” and when he does, he’ll be Cruiserweight Champion. Neville stands up on the announcers table and says he has heard enough. He calls Titus a peasant and runs him down as well as Akira. Titus says Neville looks like a scared little boy instead of a king and that he’ll be annihilated by the “powa” of Tozawa. Akira’s theme plays as Neville looks on.
We cut backstage to see Kurt Angle talking to The Revival before we go to commercial.
Back with a new “What’s Up Productions” video from R-Truth accepting Goldust’s challenge.
Backstage with Curtis Axel trying to cheer Bo Dallas up following his loss against Finn Balor earlier. The Miz walks up to them and tries to encourage them to join him in his revenge against Dean Ambrose. He tells them to think about it before walking off.
Charly Caruso is back with another interview this time with Samoa Joe. We get a quick look at Joe’s win over Roman from four months ago and he promises to leave Roman a broken man tonight. He says he’s gonna lock Brock in the Coquina Clutch at Great Balls of Fire and will not let go of him or the Universal Championship. Tonight he promises to teach Roman some respect about his name and he better use it for when he speaks.
Samoa Joe vs Roman Regins
Winner Samoa Joe via Coquina Clutch after Roman was distracted by……..
a returning Braun Strowman exiting an ambulance in the backstage area. Match grade: A
After the match, Samoa Joe celebrates his win and leaves the ring. Looks like we’re gonna cut to commercial but Braun’s theme hits and he’s wasting no time marching down to the ring. He doesn’t go after Roman right away though, instead he grabs a mic and says Roman must’ve forgot, reminding Roman that he isn’t finished with him. Braun picks Roman up and slams him with pure vengeance. He grabs the mic again and tells Roman that he’ll see him at Great Balls of Fire in an Ambulance Match! Crowd cheers as Braun makes his exit.
We get a promo for MizTV with Miz’s wife Maryse as the special guest before we cut to commercial.
Back with MizTV and two dancing bears in the ring.
Miz brings out Maryse and tries to plead with her over his recent actions. They kiss but Dean Ambrose comes out and The Miz ends up splashing champagne on Maryse when he tries to shield her in front of him. She leaves and when it looks like Ambrose is going to attack Miz, the bears attack Dean and reveal themselves to be Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. All three men continue to jump Ambrose and Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on him to end the segment.
Backstage we see Kurt Angle talking to Big Show about the attacks on Enzo and Big Cass before we go to commercial.
Final tag match for the night as RAW Tag Team Champions Sheamus & Cesaro take on Titus O’Neil & Apollo Crews.

Back with the promo for Brock vs Samoa Joe at Great Balls of Fire
*Brock will be on RAW next week
Women’s action now when it looked like we weren’t going to get any tonight. Sasha Banks takes on Nia Jax.
Emma and Alexa attack Sasha but out comes Mickie James and Dana Brooke to even the odds. Nia goes after them and takes them out. She then tries to hit a leg drop on Sasha but Sasha moves. Bayley’s theme hits and she runs out going after Alexa and Emma first before going after Nia. Nia fights her off which causes Mickie and Dana to go after her. Nia pushes both of them away but Bayley runs up and lays Nia out with a kick and a bulldog. Alexa, Emma and Nia retreat up the ramp as the rest of the women look on.
Up next, Kurt Angle puts an end to the attacks on Enzo Amore and Big Cass.
*commercial cut* Reminder to catch Smackdown Live post Money in the Bank fallout and 205 Live tomorrow.
Back with RAW GM Kurt Angle making his way out to the ring.
Kurt bring out Enzo & Cass followed by The Revival and lastly, The Big Show. He gives Big Show time to clear the air on if he’s behind the attacks or not. Show isn’t and is disgusted. He tells Kurt that after all they’ve been through he’s accusing him. He says maybe he doesn’t need to be on Kurt’s show if this is what it has come to and leaves the ring. The Revival are next up and they aren’t behind the attacks either. Kurt says they do have strong alibis so he believes them. Before they can move on, Corey Graves stands up on the announcers table and says he has info on who did it. He calls out Big Cass on his apparent injury from his attack. Corey says the medical team didn’t even treat Cass but Cass says that he saw another doctor. Corey then shows footage from the first attack on Big Cass which looks fishy. Cass is just seen standing around making sure nobody sees him looking suspicious. Cass then starts positioning things around to make it look like an attack… Looks like we’ve found our suspect. Cass admits he did it and bashes Enzo to the max. Said he just finally snapped dealing with Enzo for years. Cass trash talks Enzo some more before nailing him with a big boot and leaving the ring. Kurt checks on Enzo while Cass looks back at them from the ramp as RAW comes to an end.
Pretty crazy RAW tonight till the ending. Honestly didn’t want Enzo and Cass to split, felt like 1. they should’ve won the tag team championships back in NXT and 2. they were still over with most crowds. Not to mention their merchandise. Hopefully creative knows what they’re doing otherwise this was dumb. Match of the night was Roman vs Samoa Joe. Honestly didn’t expect it to be that good but man was I wrong. So glad big Braun is back though and I can’t wait till he gets back to killing things. One last thing I’ll like to say, the road to Great Balls of Fire definitely picked up.
Tonight’s show earned a B+ from me.
Be sure to catch Smackdown and 205 Live tomorrow peeps. Till next time!
