Alonge Hawe’s Blue Collar Hustle is his brain child. The pilot episode is a strong look into his character (Ajani Garvey) where he is a manager of a sales group. He comes into his new position trying to motivate the group and raise the groups potential/earnings. The show takes place in Stone Mountain, GA mainly in a business building with an all professional African American sales group. But you also get to see Ajani’s personal side where he interacts with his girl Anaya Bassett and wants to establish a deep cultural look into their heritage. Stand out characters so far in the episode have been Asha Luna followed up by Anthony Lee. Each character development will be interesting to see as the show keeps putting out episodes. The plight of each character has not been revealed but at the end of the episode Ajani receives a mixtape. The mixtape is from one of his employees Quan Banneker and you can see Ajani feeling out the music right before his goes to sleep. We see that Quan has a hobby he is serious about doing when he’s not at work.
I am excited to see the show unfold and see the vision Alonge has in store. You get the vibe of the title through the pilot. Everyone seems kind of content on where they are at right now and it is Ajani’s mission to bring out their hustle. I give the episode an 8.5/10 and I can’t wait to see the season unfold.
